1 Harbor Drive Petition Delivered to the City Council—Let’s Keep It Going!

We have momentum! We made the first presentation of our petition to request Sausalito require CEQA environmental review of 1 Harbor Drive at the City Council meeting on July 21, and we are at 535 signatures! Now we need to move into high gear and push our target over 1000 names. Only by seeing strong support will the Council understand that people in Sausalito want environmental review.

We say: Find problems and fix them before anything is built. It’s just common sense.

🎯 Goal: More than 1000 Signers

Next steps: Continue to circulate the petition and make sure all residents are aware of the project and the stakes for our neighborhoods.

From circulating flyers earlier in the week we found out that many people do not yet know about this project and its impact. It is essential that we make them aware of it so they can add their name to protect our community.

If you have not signed the petition yet, please consider adding your name.

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to pass out flyers in their own neighbors or in public locations. If you have a spare 30 – 60 minutes, email us, and we can provide flyers to you. Identify a friend or neighbor and make a plan to work together doing something fun and valuable for Sausalito.

It is critically important that we get more signers as the City will need to see that the community supports the CEQA review.

A full CEQA review is necessary to evaluate the potential impacts and needed mitigation for these and other hazards:

- Public safety, including emergency vehicle access and evacuation routes
- Traffic, circulation, and pedestrian and bicycle safety
- Water, sewer, stormwater, public services, and other infrastructure systems
- Flooding, sea-level rise, and environmental resilience
- The impact on wildlife of the removal of 55 trees, including 12 heritage trees
- Visual impacts and neighborhood character
- Construction-related impacts

📅 1 Harbor Drive Timeline

  • Current status: “Incomplete”– the City has requested additional information from the developer.
  • August – September: The developer will likely submit additional information and at some point, the application will likely be deemed “complete.”
  • If "complete" status achieved: At this point there will be a 60-day countdown for the City to determine if CEQA is required and this will be our period of maximum activity.

Thank you for your support,
