Save Our Sausalito News: Introducing Stand With: A New Way We’re Showing Up For Neighbors

We need to weigh in strongly at this Thursday’s Special City Council Meeting (Thursday, May 14, 5pm).

Please take a moment to send an email to the City Council by clicking the button below and support our Pelican Harbor neighbors.

Here’s what Stand With has accomplished this year, and where we’re focused next.

SOS Stand With: Our Actions To Date This Year

Nevada Street: 88 letters, emails, and public comments were sent to the City Council.

Bridgeway Neighbors: SOS delivered a 20-signature petition to the City Council in support of the neighbors.

Pelican Harbor: Organize the community to email the City Council before the May 14 meeting.

February — Stand With Nevada Street

Issue: No view protection requirement in the City’s Request for Proposals for the Corporation Yard site, impacting the Nevada Street neighborhood.

SOS Stand With Action: 88 letters, emails, and public comments were sent to the City Council.

Results: Unanimous 5–0 vote to amend the RFP to include view protection, not only at the Corporation Yard, but also at the MLK site.

Spring — Stand With Bridgeway Neighbors

Issue: Late-night parties and 13 police reports at the new operator in the former Trident Restaurant space on Bridgeway became a serious quality-of-life concern for nearby residents.

SOS Stand With Action: SOS delivered a 20-signature petition to the City Council in support of the neighbors.

Result: The operator announced mitigation steps to operate as a better neighbor. SOS will continue to monitor the situation.

Now — Stand With Pelican Harbor

Issue: Liveaboard residents are raising concerns about the harbor’s pending sale to a new owner. The City is trustee of the water streets beneath the harbor, and its approval is critical to the sale, giving Council both the authority and the obligation to conduct detailed due diligence on the prospective owner. Residents are asking for assurance of strong dock management, ongoing maintenance of the docks and facilities, and confirmation that long-time liveaboards will retain the same quality of services and the ability to remain in their homes.

SOS Stand With Action: The City Council has scheduled a public forum on the sale where residents’ concerns can be heard.
