View Protection

View Protection is our long-term work to keep Sausalito's public views — of the bay, the hills, and the waterfront — open to everyone. It's the program behind the ViewSync mapping tool and the Corporation Yard campaign: documenting what a project would block, and holding development to the city's view-protection standards.

SOS built ViewSync to measure a project's view impact from real elevation data. After a multi-step path, the City adopted it — developers must now use it before approval.
