The City Council voted 4–0 to reject the transfer of Pelican Harbor's lease to an applicant with a weak operating record. Because the City is trustee of the water streets beneath the harbor, its approval was essential to the sale — and that gave the Council both the authority and the obligation to look closely at who would take over.
Through our Stand With program, SOS delivered 19 emails and in-person comments. The hearing was a vivid display of Sausalito's maritime character: people who live and work on the water, with hillside neighbors standing beside them, asking that long-time liveaboards keep the same quality of service and the ability to remain in their homes.
That is what Stand With is for — supporting neighbors, and never leaving them to stand alone.
